Smart Scheduling

TIP: A Smart Scheduling team creates a peaceful workflow.

To create a peaceful office workflow where your members are served in a timely manner, you need to consider a number of components when scheduling. The norm for most medical practices is to consider these 5 elements when creating an appointment for a patient:

  1. Doctor’s schedule.
  2. Maximum number of patients allowed.
  3. Doctor’s instructions to return.
  4. Transportation needs. (if apply)
  5. Next available appointment slot.

Yes. The above criteria are important when scheduling an appointment, but they DO NOT alter the dynamics of the office, on the contrary the patterns of chaos are repeated month after month.

How to effectively change your office workflow? What does a “peaceful workflow” look like?

Smart Scheduling is the answer! A peaceful workflow is one where all departments are working together, including the Department of Transportation. A workflow where the patient is your number one priority.

I agree. Employees do not take into account important criteria when scheduling such as Visit Type. If you are scheduling a New Patient appointment, please find a day where the schedule is light, do not schedule 4 new patients back to back. Sometimes is just common sense, but I guess they’re too busy to think.

Thank you. I think training your staff periodically is a must.
